
Vicky Oliver is an award-winning author of books on career development. Her savvy career advice has been featured in over 231 media outlets, including the front page of the New York Times Job Market section, the Wall Street Journal, The New York Post, Associated Press (twice), LA Times, Chicago Tribune, the Philadelphia Inquirer (twice), Sunday Star-Ledger, Esquire magazine, Essence magazine, The Investment Professional magazine, and Bloomberg TV. She loves the radio medium and has been interviewed on well over 100 local and national radio programs.
Her first book, 301 Smart Answers to Tough Interview Questions, is a national
bestseller now in its third U.S. printing. It has been translated four times
and is sold in eleven countries: the U.S., England, France, Germany, Australia,
Canada, Japan, Turkey, Taiwan, India, and China. Her second book is called
Power Sales Words: How to Write It, Say It, and Sell It with Sizzle. Her third book, published in fall 2008, is called Bad Bosses, Crazy Coworkers & Other Office Idiots. It won the National Best Books 2009 Award for Best Business Careers Book. After a few short months on the shelves, "Bad Bosses" went into its second printing. Vicky is writing her fourth book now.
Vicky also gives spirited seminars on job-hunting, networking, and business
etiquette for groups of 50 to 200 people. She has given a series of seminars
at the New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA), the West Side Y in Manhattan,
and at Brown University. She was a panelist at the Financial Womens
Association (FWA), and at the Circle of Sisters Business Expo at the Jacob
Javits Center. She was designated in house job-hunting expert
at the Shomex Diversity Fair at Madison Square Garden. She also hosted a Washington
Post webinar on job-hunting. Vickys articles have been published in
Adweek magazine, The Investment Professional magazine, The Charlotte Weekly,
vault.com and on Crains New York Business website.
Vicky is ever true to her schools. She is currently Chair of the Communications
and Marketing Committee of the Brown Alumni Association (BAA) Board of Governors,
a member of the External Programs Committee of the BAA Board of Governors,
President Emeritus and an executive board member of the Brown University Club
in New York, current Secretary of the Brown Club in New York, and Vice President
of her class at Brown. She is also former Vice President of the Trinity School
Alumni & Alumnae Association (TAAA) and was the first woman to hold a
leadership position on that governing body.
Her writings and speaking engagement have put her in touch with over five
thousand people in all different professions and in all walks of life: the
employed, the unemployed, entrepreneurs, freelancers, retirees, college graduates,
